When I chose Business Management as my university course, I had very little idea of what I hoped to do after Uni other than the nowadays generic answer ‘something to do with business’. Nothing changed until my second year, when I chose Gamification as an elective module. Within the first two workshops, I knew this was very different to anything I had ever studied before. We played board games at first and then learnt about the huge variety of ways that the mechanics of these games could be applied to business environments. This was the only module that truly fired me up and made me think of my future work prospects in a serious way.
I was lucky enough to land a part-time position at Gamification+ helping to manage the company’s marketing campaigns, allowing me to gain a real insight into what a job in this industry would be like.
