Gamification+ wins coveted Board of Trade Award

We are proud to announce that Gamification+ have been awarded the Board of Trade Award 2018. 

On Monday 21st January 2019, Gamification+ Founder Pete Jenkins travelled to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London for the prestigious Board of Trade Awards Ceremony. At the event, Pete received the award from Dr Liam Fox, the Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade.

We are very proud to have received this accolade. From a position of zero exports, our Managing Director Pete Jenkins attended a UKTI training course in November 2015 and has since gone on to be recognised as an international expert, speaker, trainer and consultant who has exported to many countries. 

Gamification+ has grown quickly, with additional experts added to the team, partners on most continents and is now organising major international events such as the conference Gamification Europe.

Board of Trade Award Medal

This Award has been granted to us by the Department of International Trade and the UK Board of Trade as a mark of recognition for our contributions to trade and investment in the year 2018.

Pete also received a letter from the President of the Board of Trade, Dr Liam Fox, which contained the following excerpt.

An outstanding example of how successful a local business can be by embracing overseas opportunities, the judging panel felt that Gamification+ is the epitome of an International Trade success story. Not only has it demonstrated the success that can be achieved in exporting over a short time, but it has maintained and expanded its UK operation at the same time.

​Why did we win?

In March 2018, the Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade launched the Board of Trade Awards to recognise excellence in trade and investment. The Department for International Trade works with thousands of businesses, and our company has been identified as one that has demonstrated exceptional innovation, delivered prosperity for the UK, and championed free trade. This Award has been granted to us by the Department for International Trade and the UK Board of Trade as a mark of recognition for our contributions to trade and investment in the year 2018.

Pete Baikins is an international authority on gamification, a lifelong gamer, successful entrepreneur and a lecturer. As CEO of Gamification+ Ltd he mentors and trains companies world-wide on the use of gamification to solve business challenges. Gamification+ won the Board of Trade Award from the UK's Department of International Trade in January 2019.

Pete is co-host of the health gamification podcast Health Points and is also Chair of Gamification Europe, the annual conference for Gamification practitioners.

Pete is an Honorary Ambassador for GamFed (International Gamification Confederation), having previously been the Chair from 2014 to February 2019, whose aim is to spread best practices within and support the gamification industry.

After 15 years as a Lecturer on gamification and entrepreneurship at the University of Brighton he now guest lectures on Gamification at King’s College London and at ESCP Europe at post-graduate and under-graduate levels.

Over the past 20 years Pete has built and sold two businesses. One was in security software and the more recent one was a telecoms and internet connectivity business. He is also an Ambassador for Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce in the UK.
